Be the star of the show as Paddington 2 comes to Alconbury Weald
- 09.08.2018
As part of an evening of cinematic magic under the stars – being held at Alconbury Weald on Saturday, 11 August - moviegoers are being invited to become part of the action and feature in a very special production that will hit the big screen before the showing of Paddington 2.
Organisers have been holding workshops with local schools for aspiring filmmakers in advance of St Neots Film Festival on 7 and 8 November and are holding a special film workshop at the Paddington 2 outdoor cinema event.
Ben Pitt from St Neots Film Festival said: “There’s nothing like going to the movies to watch a cinematic masterpiece on the big screen and we’ve been working on an original short film, especially for this event, called Tension | Release. We will be inviting event goers to play a starring role and all ages (from three years up) are welcome to come along to The Hall in The Club between 4.30pm and 6pm to find out what surprises we have in our film booth.”
As well as the film workshop, the outdoor cinema event will feature live music from local artists, an array of Cambridgeshire’s finest pop-up caterers and Paddington-themed family fun for children of all ages.
Steph Burton, community lead for Urban&Civic at Alconbury Weald said: “We’re very excited about our first event on the Watch Office Green and there is a real buzz and sense of anticipation from the local community. We’ve teamed up with Enchanted Cinema to bring everyone’s favourite bear to the big screen and, as well as showing Paddington 2, we have a fantastic array of pre-cinema activities. There are also lots of delicious food and drink options or people can bring their own picnic.”
Tickets need to be booked in advance to ensure we have enough headsets for everyone. Deckchairs are limited, so please come early or bring your own seating/picnic blankets: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/paddington-2-on-the-green-at-alconbury-weald-tickets-47173320672.
