Roythornes named in top 5 law firms for law trainees

Leading law firm Roythornes Solicitors has been named by The Lex 100 Survey as one of the top legal practices for trainee solicitors, winning six categories and ranking in fifth place overall out of 165 firms nationwide for overall job satisfaction.

With 3,000 responses from over 165 law firms, Roythornes came top for job satisfaction, living up to expectations, quality of work, stress levels, work/life balance and vacation scheme.

Vember Mortlock, managing director at Roythornes Solicitors, who are based at Alconbury Enterprise Campus's Incubator, said:

“We are thrilled to win such an accolade as we aim to give our trainee law graduates the best possible experience. We firmly believe in training our graduates to their full potential by allowing them to have in-depth involvement, where appropriate, with real client work, in hearings and in settlements.”

The Lex 100 is distributed to universities and career centres around the country and considered the essential student guide to the UK’s top law firms. Its annual survey asks trainees across the country to provide anonymous feedback on their training contract and rate their experiences out of ten.

Key feedback from the Roythornes trainees included positive comments such as: ‘high quality and variety of work’, ‘all colleagues are friendly and approachable’ and ‘there is the right balance between work and play’.

Vember added:

“The Lex 100 is very well respected by students, graduates and trainees so winning the awards is great but also hearing the great feedback from our trainees in so many areas is equally fantastic to hear. Winning in six of the 13 categories and placing so highly overall will help to not only retain the talent we have at Roythornes but also attract the best students from across the country when we are recruiting.”

Roythornes is a top 150 law firm with particular expertise in private client, agriculture, food and property sectors.  This year they were listed as one of the 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain by the London Stock Exchange, and have recently opened an additional office to service their clients in the East Anglian region - at Alconbury Weald - and expanded their private client services in Nottingham.
