Resolution to Grant the Outline Application for Alconbury Weald

Last night (Monday 9 December) the Full Council of Huntingdonshire District Council resolved to grant the outline application for Alconbury Weald.

The Application will now progress to the Secretary of State to decide if there is any need for him to call-in the application for his determination. A decision is expected from the Secretary of State in the New Year.

If the Application is not called in, then the approval will be granted subject to satisfactory completion of the S106 Agreement and conditions to be determined by the Assistant Director of Environment, Growth and Planning, in consultation with the Chairs of the S106 Agreement Advisory Group, the Development Management Panel and the Strategic Planning & Housing Portfolio Holder.

In response to the decisions last night, Nigel Hugill, Executive Chairman of Urban&Civic, said:

"We are fully grateful to the Councillors of Huntingdon District Council and to Stukeleys Parish Council for the strong and sustained backing given to Alconbury Weald.  This is happy timing, following the confirmation last week of funding for the A14 in the Chancellor's Autumn Statement which was so significant to the area and the region.  We now look forward to an early green light from Secretary of State Eric Pickles and making our own contribution to a growing economic momentum."
