Huntingdon Business Network - Training and Social Media

We are delighted to be hosting the next Huntingdon Business Group meeting on Friday 16th September from 12.30 pm - 2.30 pm for what promises to be an informative and interesting session around securing maximum return on your training budget investment and a guide to effective but safe use of social media.

Session 1 - Building a business case for learning and development

Nick Smith on Cost Effective Training

Nick will walk you through a process that will ensure you have the right people with the right capabilities, in the right places at the right time  delivering your organisational strategy.

He will demonstrate how to make a clear business case for training by building a “chain of impact”.  This approach will help attendees to develop and achieve their business’ ambitions.

These could include developing new services, increasing profitability or reducing waste as well as designing training. Nick will demonstrate how to analyse if the interventions are working and the required changes are being realised.

The system also provides clarity that enables any issues to be identified and addressed sooner rather than later to ensure your success.

Join us to discover how to understand the value of training, and its potential to deliver the desired return on investment.

Session 2 -  How To navigate the tricky waters of social media

Dawn Cross of Face 2 Face HR

Victor Sacks of VS Associates

Social media is incredibly powerful and it can literally attract the attention of 1000’s of potential clients …but is it attracting the right kind of attention?

Left unchecked,   thoughtless use by staff can result in a loss of productivity and credibility and trying to undo any damage that’s been caused can be an absolute nightmare.

As Dawn Cross of Face2Face HR knows only too well, prevention is definitely better than cure, and so she will talk about the measures you can put in place so that everyone is crystal clear about what is acceptable and you avoid uncomfortable and unnecessary disciplinary hearings.

Victor Sacks of VS Associates will then bring you up to speed on how you can use social media to get people talking about you for all the right reasons.

Used correctly, social media can be a very cost effective way to raise your profile and, you'll be pleased to know that,  small improvements can have a big impact.
