In support of Anti-Bullying Week, Alconbury Weald housebuilder David Wilson Homes has donated a range of books that aim to support children’s mental health to the community library on the ground floor of The Club.
Founded by Anti-Bullying Alliance, Anti-Bullying Week encourages the discussion of the stigma around bullying, with the aim to enable everyone to live happy and healthy lives.
Last year’s theme - ‘Choose Respect’ - was selected following a consultation with teachers and children who wanted to be empowered to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes.
Among the books donated by David Wilson Homes were ‘The Unworry Book’ by Alice James, ‘All About Feelings’ by Felicity Brooks and ‘Social Media Survival Guide’ by Holly Baithe. Many of the books include interactive features to help the children express their feelings and relieve anxiety.
“The community library is very popular with little ones and it’s fantastic to have these new books to help local children and their families affected by the themes covered.”

“We hope that these books will encourage all children living in and around Alconbury Weald to consider their own mental health, and also the feelings of others in their everyday life."

“Anti-Bullying Week is an initiative we are proud to support, and we are delighted to help local libraries and schools within our community with tools to help stop bullying.”
