Crowds flock to new homes launch

The first phase of new homes were unveiled over the weekend to record numbers of interested buyers.  Hopkins Homes, the first housebuilder at Alconbury Weald were impressed with the number of people attending the launch event and have had to release more plots to keep up with demand.  Lee Barnard, Sales Director of Hopkins Homes said: “We are delighted at the extremely positive response we have seen to this exceptional new location and look forward to helping many more people find their perfect new home at Alconbury Weald.“

Tim Leathes, Development Director at Urban&Civic, the site owners and developers said: “It’s great to see the enthusiasm and desire to be part of something new at Alconbury Weald.  This weekend has given us confirmation of the investment, vision and hard graft that the team have put in has struck such a chord with people.”

Hopkins Homes are the first of three housebuilders that will be working at Alconbury Weald this year.  The first residents will be moving in at the same time as the new primary school, Ermine Street Church Academy, is opening.  The whole development will in time provide more than 5,000 homes, 8,000 jobs in the Government-backed Enterprise Zone, and more than 700 acres of green space.  The development will also have two further primary schools, a secondary school, a health centre and a range of community facilities planed. The development will also feature extensive investment in road, bus, cycle and rail infrastructure – both on site and across the local area.

Hopkins Homes are renowned for designing and building high quality communities that are sympathetic to traditional features and the character of the region. They recently won a hat trick of national house building awards for their developments in the region. The bespoke designs at Alconbury Weald have been inspired by architectural features seen in nearby villages, such as Abbots Ripton.
