The Club nominated for prestigious design award

The Club at Alconbury Weald has been nominated for a prestigious Wood Award featuring some of Britain’s best architectural designs in wood.  The shortlist will be showcased at the trade exhibition 100% Design in September and the winners will be revealed on 22nd November 2016.

Established in 1971, the Wood Awards is the UK’s premier competition for excellence in architecture and product design in the world’s only naturally sustainable material. The Awards aim to recognise, encourage and promote outstanding design, craftsmanship and installation using wood.

The Club building sits between the residential homes at Alconbury Weald and the Enterprise Campus and will be at the heart of the new community.  The judges were impressed with the structure of the building including the timber cladding which they compared to a Scandinavian summer house.  The building is not only home to Urban&Civic, the site developers, but will also have a café, gym for the new residents that move in in October 2016.

The Club also has extensive conference facilities and meeting rooms available to hire, from individual meetings to full conferences for up to 80 people.  For more information please contact Victoria Parchment on 01480 413 141 or email victoria.parchment@urbanandcivic.com
